Radio Patter PDF  | Print |  E-mail
How many of you are proficient on the radio. You may think you are but are you actually 100% on your game or only 75%. If you have to think about what you say then great if you just say what you think then this might not be right. Ask Riaan, during his training now on the LSA plane the instructor has held him back and said he needs to stop think about what he is saying then get the information sorted out and then say this.
Looks like i need to go back to the absolute basics again on the field.

Radio broadcast starts with
Airspace (Johannesburg Special Rules Traffic West)
Who (this is powered paraglider (your call sign))
position (over head the R28 Highway)
Altitude (at 5800 feet on a QNH (air pressure)of 1025))
Intentions (routing from the Swartkops race way to Dainfern)
Time (estimate Dainfern in 10 min)
Who (your call sign again)

So always know your filght plan and stick to it.
