Cool the running cycle is now complete. I spent 2 hours running the Mamba in on the ground and this weekend I got her upto full throtle, and WOW this beast kicks arse, it is one powerful motor. For the first time I can say I actually have to really stand my ground and push back hard against the thrust of the motor, and if I am not careful I will get face planted.
On Saturday morning after completeing the ground running, Tony took it up for the maiden flight to test the settings and so forth and it was an awsome sight to see my new baby in flight and she sounds awsome. Tony was happy and said it was now my turn.
Sunday afternoon flying. well it was now time to get ready for my maiden flight with the Mamba and I was nervous, with that much power on my back and all that extra torque I was scared. but I could not put it off, it had to be done if I wanted to fly again, and trust me I did. Well I landed with a big smile on my face, the launch nearly surprised me with the torque, but I was able to manage it and correct for it and when my feet came off the ground, climb was very positive, I climb to around 5000ft in no time at all and the just settled back to cruise did not want the motor to work to hard so early in the game. I was comfortably able to maintain level flight on just below half power, which is very cool, lots of power still in reserve for when I need it.
Now just need to build confidence, need to do a few more take off's to get a real feel and understanding of the motor.
Fly safe all and see you in the air
