Flying Unlimited is introducing the Mamba. This is our production Model of our first prototype PPG we made last year. It has a high attachment point harness for now but with a full range weight shift distance bar concept. The cage folds up pretty small and the main frame is sturdy and is fitted with a 14 liter tank. The wide base stops it from toppling over and can accommodate 20 liter of fuel at a later stage. The new Simonini Mini 2 Evo motor is fitted to this unit and is specked at delivering +90kg of thrust. Ideal for a Backpack tandem or a tandem light trike. The standard Mini 2 Plus PPG with Harness and prop ready to fly with no fuel in the tank weighs 34.5 kg, as per today's measurement. The “Mamba” with a much bigger motor weighs 36kg. This is the huge plus to us. For only 2Kg of weight we are gaining between 15 – 20 Kg of thrust. The proof is in the flying. The photos are of the first unit completed. As you know R&D takes time and is expensive, now we and everyone who has visited and seen it is really impressed with what we have achieved in such a short space in time. The second and third units are the same as the 1st. The 4th one will have a ballistic chute attached so will require some design changes to the frame. The 5th unit will be used to start with a production line and by this stage the CNC bender will be manufacturing the Frame components. We are intending manufacturing these in bulk and keeping pre made parts in stock for off the shelf purchases. Damage a section and we ship just that part to you. Each Frame component is stamped with a section number so you just order that number. In the past we have always had to rebuild a part from Scratch. In the future you damage it and we will be able to have another part for you immediately. This is the reason for standardizing the colour of the units. It also then will give us a brand. This unit is also compatible with most motors available. The centre frame will only be drilled one the motor selection has been selected for fitting. The 130cm props are widely used now and this is why our frame will stay this size even for the 100cc motors. The Netting for this unit is not standard netting. We are actually knotting our own nets . We have been trying to source a net for months now for our other units and to our surprise one of our own staff can make nets by hand and it looks awesome. After a few Proto type nets we have settled on a size with a very low drag foot print that allows us to give protection to the lines and also plenty of air to the prop. Most of the international market nets we have come across have a very high drag/resistance to allowing air to the prop. This should make quite a big improvement on the airflow properties.
