Last day flown at the worlds in China 2007

The World Champs is over.

I never won it but the Provisional results show that Ramon is in first with Michelle in second and the previous Champ Mathieu in third.

One thing that I have seen is that Chilly is the fastest man on a PPG wing at the worlds and I was second fastest on my larger 28 size Plasma. This is good news for Dudek as well as the plasmas have shown stunning performance and speed. I for one think that it is the best wing available right now. Now just get the best pilots to fly it in a comp and then you will really see it perform.

The South Africans finished in 9th position and the highest position for a South African in the World was Me ( Tony) in 35th position. I Had a very hard time getting points in the navigation tasks. I really need to train hard on this. The maps as everyone said were way out of date but never the less I just battled to do the calculations for the maps.

We need more training as a team for other competitions. I would for one like to compete in more comps in the European arena to learn how to fly these tasks better.

Keith did well finishing in 39th position with Martin and Callie finishing in  43 and 44th position. Dawie did really well in the Slow Fast comp task  and got a 15th position in it. Dawie was so scared of this task he just could not ask enough questions about the way to fly it and also what to expect in this task. We have never done this type of task in any comp before as it was believed to be dangerous. I just love the low fast and very slow flying and as can be seen this is my speciality. We will do more of this training to. Dawie ended the comp in 59th position and picked up 7 positions by doing this section well.

In the future we will do things different and get pilots trained to do tasks. We will have our specialists. Nav, Economy, and low ground task. This is the way the team can win. Everyone must still be hot in all the tasks but we need to be able to win a few tasks to compete with the more established teams.

I will start a new competition challenge for the SA pilots once I get back. It will be a lot of Nave flying like we experienced. There you will find we have so much to learn about our abilities. These tasks will be recorded and will count towards the selection of the next team to the worlds for 2009.
