Stratus 125cc

The Flying Unlimited Stratus is set to be the first of a new range of paramotors designed and built South Africa. This frame work is the culmination of three years of prototypes and redesigns. Finally we are at a stage in the development that producing world standard products is no longer a problem. The Stratus will come supplied with the highly acclaimed ROS 125 engine. However, the frame will also be able to cater for a range of motors, everything from 100cc to the power house 294cc. The frame stays the same with the back plate that the motor fixes to changing between engine types. This system gives pilots a wide choice of machine and makes replacement parts easy to change in the event of damage. The net is specially manufactured out of Braided Dacron so is incredibly tough.

The Stratus uses a weightshift certified harness, which is both certified and comfortable and perfect for low hangpoint units. We are still deciding which harness to use for the high attachment point system. The frame design caters for both systems with only a small insert change on the underarm bars to either give you full weight shift or none. This could be good for the flight schools to give the student a more stable seat in the early days of their training and a greater range of movement as their skill improves.The Stratus is using the Ros 125 Motor with a 130cm Helix Propeller. It’s light, good looking and very portable. It carries easily during the ground phase of take off and landing. Manufacturing-wise parts have been CNC milled and bent so they are very accurate. Orders for the Stratus can be place directly with Flying Unlimited in the Western Cape & Gauteng.
